Are we MALAYSIAN enough?? - a deliberation with Chinese friends on FB

A Chinese friend has posted this issue on his FB's wall - and he is a PKR member. The discussion seems to be quite derailing from the topic, but its worth publishing here.

"Greed is a factor for the Malays losing their economic and political strength, former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad says. What do you think of his statement? To me it is partly true but more to ineptitude and rampant corruption not curtailed I would say"

Mr. Chok : "Malays are truly simple and nice people , uncomplicated. It is Hippocratic people like TDM whom his own action reflected by passing on to other as deception as an angel but in actual fact is a devil advocate at work. Greed is his virtue and blaming other is his mastery by art of manipulation and deception. In my opinion I am in 100% disagreement due to the fact a majority of them are not super wealthy like him and his cronies however they are not totally poor till they are popper till begging is a livelihood of the day which are make up of foreigners whom are the real people at sight which is one of his fame Project M, out of principle and greed to win by rigging the democracy system to be staying in power endlessly as his wish..........all said and done mentioned GREED is a total reflection of TDM, himself."

Mr. Samueal: " Dr M is just being sarcastic. He knows he is the one which leads umno baru to syaitan. So now he is trying to rectify the situation."

Mr. Lee: " can't be trusted"

My response: "Corruption is a never ending story.. it does happen, and will continue to happen. Even, in PKR itself during the party election.. what a tremor! People are saying that, if PKR cant even manage their own issues, let alone national issues.. It was a truly devastating situation and marked thousands words to people.. Anwar Ibrahim is looked as opportunist and he really is. Pakatan Rakyat has to has a final say about Hudud as advocating by PAS. That's the solid issue which to me, a blatant issue when discussing about Pakatan stance. I truly a non partisan. But, to me, Pakatan and/ or Barisan are the same!. Oh ya, Corruption may not come in monetary form, but the word CORRUPTION is soooo wide and it denotes many aspects with different circumstances."

Mr. Samuel responded to me: " You sound like typical MCA boy! Your standard slogan alouds " If you Cant convince by facts then deceit them ". I really hope everything will be the same! But unfortunately time flies! The world is changing I may be lucky to vote 11 times in my life if I am still alive! Wake up my friend, Singapore was a slump but today they are not the same, the same is PAP and UMNO still ruling but one leading to advanced country but the other heading to racist bankrupt country!"

My response: "Samuel: u yourself sound like a very typical DAP boy! u have mistaken about me, am a non partisan. I believe the title or the label that u attributed to our country is mischievous. It should be vice versa. As a fact, u tell me which country has education system like us.. we have chinese school belong to chinese not a government but funded by the government. we have UTAR, same goes to Indians, but Indians schools are government school, and there are many more examples. Does UK or US has chinese school, and funded by their governments. Then, u are saying our country is racist. Why, when we are discussing about our chinese, we never regarded ourselves as racist, but why when Malays discuss about their future, they are always regarded as racist.. poor Malays because we can understand their language. The fact is, this is our system, it has been established long before by our former leaders (comprising of different ethnicity). And this is the only system that underpinning our CONSTITUTION. The issue is, why the issue of racism is only brought now? Have you ever thought how difficult malays to accept us in this Malaya/Malaysian community? were they 'racists' in accepting us as their fellow members of citizenships. By analogy, if an indian/malay guy came to your house, and thereafter he wants to dwell in your house, and wants equal shares of your house, and wants to share everything in your house, and worst still, wants to regard your house as his house.. will you accede to his request? Sorry.. its just my two cents. I have been thinking many things, and am more than happy to discuss many issues that i have been thinking with regards to many issues brought up lately. Much i love to discuss openly and based on facts or even laws (especially constitution). No political interests.. open minded-like discussion."

Mr Samuel: "Of course it is a racist country, Chinese goes to chinese school, Malay goes to Malay school, Indian goes to Indian School, and Chinese goes to English school!!! This is segregation not unity my dear lord. It is a bankrupt, corrupt and inefficient system, may be it is good after racial riot for 15 years. I personally think it is not good for now. 50 years ago, we are not living in globalisation now we are. So if you are still dreaming and sticking to your comfort zone you will be left behind. Globalisation means leverage resources and skilled labour! Your Malaysia is still a protective bankrupt system. Stop telling me all the nonsense about how Malaysia seeks independence from British and telling me about you yourself as a pendatang! If you talking about those migrants like CHinese and Indian are foreigner then who is foreigner? If you argue that, then Tunku Andul Rahman should not give citizenship to all the Chinese and Indian, he should chase them back to their motherlands. The fact is it has been agreed upon, the Malay has to recognize them as a citizen because of their economic contribution! Nothing is free, my dear friend. The fact is past is history, moves forward not moves backward!"

My response: "Then.. i believe, we must start to have only one schoo systeml.. no chinese school, no indian school, no malay school. but ask yourself, would chinese prefer it? would chinese agree with this idea..?? yes.. economic contribution, what sort of economic contribution?? taking out wealth from Malaya and sending them to British?? ws it economical in your eyes and it should be reciprocated with citizenship?? waw..then, citizenship is nothing less than a reciprocation, poor chinese we have been accepted through sympathetic means, poor Malays, they were sympathetic enuff to accept us! Sorry, u are wrong.. the same applies to Banglas, Pakistanese, Indonesians, .. are you ready to recognize them as your fellow citizenships??? thats the problem.. we tend to forget history, but we want to speak out, more often than not, we never realised what actually we have spoken about.. u are right we have to move forward.. but how do we move?? for instance, under the contitution, 'MALAY' has been defined as a person who has malay antecedent, profess the religion of Islam, speak malay language, conform with malay customs (u may check this).. and in reality, who is malay actually?? there are Javanese, Sundas, Boyanese etc.. but they have been assimilated as MALAY. Did they agree to that?? i dont think so, it was a history that they must admit and ought to accept. UNLIKE US, Chinese, we have got Hakka, Hokkien, Teochew, Kantonese etc.. and have so many beliefs, the same goes to Indian.. how do you define CHINESE?? so, do we have a racist system? OR CHINESE THEMSELVES ARE RACISTS?? have u ever thought about this? u are right that the history have been agreed upon.. so let it be.. yes, social contracts have been agreed upon.. the contitution also have been agreed upon, so whats the matter? by relying on your statement, there should not be any problem.. As a conclusion, yes, i totally agree that we should abolish all racial basedl education systems i.e. no more SJKC or SJKT or SK, only one type of school (i think you have to really advocate this idea among chinese community and rest assured they will not concede with this idea - because of the comfort zone- will you?), second all the chinese must be assimilated in one definition of Chinese regardless of their clans whatsoever, now you define the chinese and how the word chinese may represent the whole chinese community in the constitution.. that means, only one language recognized, only one custom recognized, only one religion recognised.. i bet you, there will be 'racial tensions' among chinese community. After having done this, then only we talk about 'Malaysian' and stop talking about PENDATANG! Oh ya, have you got any idea about malaysian chinese students from penang that they renounced their Malaysia Citizeship and applying for british citizenship?? What happened to them?? This are all facts! You mentioned about Singapore.. i believe the word racist must be perfectly attributed to them. If the chinese demands things from Malaysia or Malay, the more Malaysia and Malay will be demanding from the chinese.. until we are ready to sacrifice those being demanded (as we are now comfortably enjoying them), then only we can talk about assimilation of being 'Malaysian' and put a stop to racial issues. Yes, assimilation - look at Indonesian (Bangsa Indonesia) and others"

Mr. Samuel : "Why you keep on attacking Chinese? Come on friend be realistic, what sort of leadership we have in Malaysia for the past 50 years? PLEASE TELL ME? Please tell me who is in POWER? PLEASE TELL me what is UMNO ideology abducted struggle? A joke blaming the people! Come on if you want power prepare to accept responsibility for the decision YOU HAVE MADE for the past 50 years! Racist, divide and rule and what else? Then now you blame the people? Hello you have 2 /3 majority makes it illegal t o discriminate and eradicate racism through school, system, law and fine. Please stop giving lame excuse n blame rakyat!"

Mr. Samuel: "BN really needs to BE ENDED never learn the lesson worse becoming arrogant blaming rakyat now. Irresponsible government!"

My response: "Sorry, my simple questions are not answered, sorry am not blaming the Chinese, but am finding the ways, and to me, this is the only way.. the same goes to you.. blaming the government."

Aidil Adha di Perantauan - Nottingham, UK

1. Pertama kalinya saya ingin mengucapkan salam Aidil Adha buat seluruh rakyat Malaysia. Allahuakbar.. Allahuakbar.. Allahuakbar!

Ameen.

Salam Aidil Adha

Salam Aidil Adha buat semua Ummat muslimin terutamanya buat semua rakyat MALAYSIA. Maaf Zahir dan Batin.
